Diabetes: Low GI chickpea salad recipe. Perfect blood sugar!

A perfect dish for diabetes, chickpeas have with a low GI that will not raise your blood sugar. However much carbs and vegetables you want to eat.

Diabetes & yummy recipe: This delicious broccoli salad recipe is a combination of broccoli, bacon and onion. Topped with creamy mayonnaise. This low glycemic salad will not raise your blood sugar and is full wonderful nutrients for a healthy and happy body.

Ingredients

  •  540g drained cooked chickpeas  
  • 600g of olives, cucumber, tomatoes, red peppers, onion, parsley
  • tuna
  •  olive oil, salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Empty the jar of chickpeas, rinse and set aside.
  • In the meantime, wash all the vegetables and chop them in little bits (weigh the vegetables)
  • Add everything together with the tuna, chickpeas and weigh the salad (food only)
  • Add some olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Diabetes & Carb content:

The total amount of this chickpea salad is 10,8R or 108g carbs

  • 600g vegetables equals to 2R or 20g carbs
  • 540g drained cooked chickpeas equals to 8,8R or 88g carbs

 

👉Weigh the vegetables first if you are not using my measurements

👉Weigh again once you have added the chickpeas and tuna

👉The total weight of the food divided by 8,8 will give you the amount of food for 1R or 10g carbs
