Diabetes: The best burger with bulgur recipe!

The best burger recipe, super easy, for the ones who don't like to eat. Bulgur will bring some carbs into your burger without being obvious.

Diabetes & yummy recipe: For those of us who need to add some carbs to our diet, this is such a great recipe. You cannot tell that there is anything else than meat in these burgers. Be careful not to put too much feta cheese salad as there is a lot of fat. You could also eat them with buns.


  • Tahini sauce:
    – 1/2 lemon juice
    – 2 tablespoon tahini
    – 5 tablespoons of water
    – Small clove of garlic
    – Pinch of salt
  • Feta cheese salad:
    – Handful each of parsley, mint and chives
    – 250g small baby tomatoes
    – Half of feta cheese block
    – Black pepper
  • Hamburgers:
    – 80g bulgur
    – 500g minced veal or beef
    – 1 clove of garlic
    – 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
    – 1 teaspoon of cumin
    – A pinch of salt
    – Handful of parsley


  • In a boiling water pot, add the bulgur. Mix, reduce the heat and cook for 15 minutes
  • Tahini sauce: Add the tahini, chopped garlic, lemon and some water. Set aside and put it in an airtight container
  • Feta salad: cut the herbs and tomatoes, crumble the feta cheese. Add some extra virgin olive oil and black pepper. Cover and set aside.
  • Hamburgers: add a clove of garlic, cumin, salt and cayenne pepper to the minced meat and mix.
  • Add the bulgur to the mix of meat and mix well.
  • Make all burgers of a similar size so that it will be easy to count the carbs

Diabetes & Carb content:

The whole amount of meat and bulgur for the burgers is 4,7R or 47g carbs

  • Weigh the bulgur, meat and spices. Write it down.Make an equal number of burgers so that it is easier to count the carbs.
  • Divide the number of burgers by the total carb content. It will give you the carb content for one burger


👉To make it easier for you, I recommend cooking some bulgur in advance and freezing it.
