Delicious dessert: French keto pear tarts recipe

Does a dessert where you don't add sugar exists? Yes! Pear fruit is naturally very sweet so you won't have to add any sugar to this pear tart dessert recipe.

Such an easy pear dessert tart to make and without any sugar/sweetener added, so that you can indulge without feeling guilty!

These pear tarts have a low carb content too so could be included in a low carb or keto diet.

Ingredients

  • Conference pears
  • Puff pastry (brand Buitoni)
  • Salted butter

 

  • For the toppings:
  • Dark chocolate
  • Walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • Vanilla powder

Directions

  • Oven on at 200C or 392F
  • Lay the puff pastry on a flat surface with the parchment paper still attached.
  • Place the tart moulds face down on the pastry and press hard
  • Continue until all the moulds are set on the pastry
  • With one hand on the mould, use the other to detach the pastry from the mould
  • Put the pastry in each mould with the parchment paper.
  • Add the pear, cut in thin slices
  • Add few knobs of salted butter
  • Put in the oven for around 20 minutes
  • Once out, add one of the toppings, or none
  • If you are not eating them straight away, I would recommend NOT to leave them in the fridge as they will get too cold and the hardened butter will make it less appealing.

Diabetes & Carb content:

👉 CARBOHYDRATE CONTENT:

– 100g of pears (or fruits in general) equals to 10g carbs

– 230g of puff pastry(the whole pastry) has a total amount of carbs of 83g carbs

➡︎ 28g pastry equals to 10g carbs

– The toppings don’t count

👉 Once you have cut the pastry ready to be put in moulds, weigh the pastry alone.

In my case it weighs 32g. ➡︎Each tart pastry contains 11g carbs (32/28)

Once you place the pear on the tart, make sure to always put the same amount.

I put 80g of pear on each tart. ➡︎The pear carb content is 8g carbs

👉 In my recipe, each pear tart equals to 11+8= 19g carbs
